Nourish Your Soul

Oh, to have the same taste buds as Job!

“I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.” (Job 23:12)

Daily we feed our physical man because it is necessary. Lettuce feed our soul and spirits daily with the Good Book and other spiritual materials. It is necessary.

That’s a good looking scallop salad below. It may be unappealing to you because our tastebuds are different. We have different food preferences. That’s okay. But every Christian should have a taste and preference for soul food. What is it? It’s spiritual food that nourishes the soul. The soul is the seat of our personality, intellect, will, affections, and desires. Before we can live healthy spiritual lives, we must feed the soul with the contents of the Good Book. When you feed the soul, you feed your faith. When you pray in faith, God is pleased. When God is pleased you get results. You get answers to prayers. The benefits of feeding the soul with the Good Book are endless.

My heartfelt prayer is that all God’s children will hunger and thirst for Him. There’s nothing that I’ve tasted that’s better than God Himself. I’ve tasted His goodness, His mercy, His protection, His provision, His love, His care, His power, and much more and it’s all GOOD. No wonder the Psalmist said, “O taste and see that the Lord is good”!
